Dear Mr. John
We are sincerely feeling sorry to notify that your employment with XYZ Corporation will cease as on Tuesday 15 June, 2010. Keeping in view the down turn economy’s repercussions HR department has had recommended the curtailment in the work force three months back. As a matter of fact the department initially settled upon dissolving agreement with the work force of the temporary and contractual nature.
Thus on the basis of the recommendations of the department your employment naturally comes to an end. However we wish to make one point very clear that the termination in no manner whatsoever is reflective of any sort of professional shortcomings or the incompetence over the last 20 months. As a matter of fact you have turned out to be one of the most productive and dedicated contractual employees of our firm.
Nevertheless in response to the economic recession we don’t have any other option than to undesirably lose you. However the firm has decided to offer the dissolution package which provides for the payment of one week’s pay for every month you have worked beyond one year i.e. twelve months. In your case it equals to the 8 weeks’ pay.
In addition to it you’ll also remain entitled to medical benefits at the company’s approved medical centers for the period remaining as per your contractual agreement letter. A detailed specification in the form of soft as well as hard copy will be soon forwarded to you. John after working with you and closely monitoring you I am sure that you’ll succeed in finding yet another exciting job opportunity in a short while. And in situation you need a recommendation letter then we will be more than pleased to do it for you. As the world is round so who knows you might be working with us in near future.
So keep your fingers crossed.
Sincerely
Jonathan M. Pontius
